Kate began teaching herself Yoga from old library books at 14. Following her graduation from the University of Notre Dame, she moved to Los Angeles and started her formal yogic education. With over twelve years of teaching experience, Kate has extensive knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and medical diagnosis, as well as the ancient healing therapies that help activate the body's innate healing capabilities, including breathing techniques, meditation, Vedic chanting, mudras, chakras, and restorative Yoga.
Kate is a registered Yoga teacher at the highest level with Yoga Alliance and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She is an ongoing student of the Yoga Sutras with Robert Birnberg and has completed the unique and prestigious two-year Yoga Therapy Rx program at Loyola Marymount University.
An understandably common question is “What style of Yoga do you teach?” Kate comes from a lineage of Yoga that is without a branding or style, because it forms the Yoga to fit the individual. She teaches a highly individualized, breath-centered practice that is truly holistic, encompassing all the tools that Yoga offers. Kate’s teaching goes beyond simply using the physical postures that have become synonymous with “yoga,” and also includes sound, chanting, gratitude meditation, positive visualization, relationships counseling and life skills re-education.
