Kate began teaching herself Yoga from old library books at 14. She began her formal yogic education after graduating from the University of Notre Dame, when she moved to Los Angeles. Kate has been teaching Yoga for nearly ten years and has studied extensively with some of the most notable and respected instructors in the world including Larry Payne PhD, Judith Lasater PhD, PT, Dona Holleman and Tatiana Urquiza. As the daughter of a physician, Kate grew up in the medical world with health and healing as core values. Her life's work is to help people reclaim their power and autonomy within their own bodies; to help individuals realize that the key to unlocking their optimal health and wellness is Themselves. She is an outspoken advocate of creating collaboration with other traditional and integrated healing professions, and works intimately with other doctors and healers. Kate's ultimate intention is to help her clients awaken to their own healing abilities, while confidently navigating our current health care system without fear, belittlement or Kate has extensive knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, medical diagnosis, and current treatments in both traditional and wholistic medical modalities. Additionally she is an expert on yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation, mudras, chakras, restorative Yoga and other ancient yogic healing therapies that help activate the body's innate healing capabilities. She is a registered Yoga teacher at the 500 hour level with Yoga Alliance and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She is an ongoing student of the Yoga Sutra-s with Robert Birnberg and has completed the unique and prestigious two-year Yoga Therapy Rx program at Loyola Marymount University. |
